About Me
Kelly White, CD(DONA)
Birth Doula Support Services

My name is Kelly and I am a DONA Certified Doula and a Certified Lactation Counselor through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. Health and wellness are second nature to me and are incorporated into both my home and work life. My first passion is my family and my second passion is women’s health. While earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Studies, I learned about doulas, lactation counselors, and other holistic practitioners. I took a great interest in doulas and what they were able to provide to pregnant women and told myself that one day I would become a doula.
It wasn’t until after the birth of my first son in 2009 that I started the certification process of becoming a doula. Becoming a mother changed me. The birth of my son was an amazing, life-changing experience and even though my husband and my mom were present and providing support and encouragement I felt that I could have benefited from having someone trained to provide comfort measures to help me with the labor and delivery. My labor was very quick and because of that there was not a lot of time to prepare. By the time my maternity leave was over, I had a plan of how I was going to go about completing the certification requirements to become a DONA Certified Doula. I diligently worked to meet all of the DONA birth requirements and successfully eared my DONA certification of birth doula in 2013.
The birth of a child is one of those unforgettable, amazing, and life-altering events in a woman’s life and I thoroughly enjoy being able to be there to help make the event a positive and memorable experience. As a doula, I am flexible in how I provide support. I am as involved as you would like me to be as I want you to enjoy your birth experience and to have the birth that you envision.
Continuing education is important to me and through my own research and conversations with health care professionals, lactation counseling appealed to me. Back in 2009, I had sought the help of a certified lactation counselor and had a wonderful experience. I was determined to be able to breastfeed my baby. With the help of my CLC I successfully breastfed my son for 23 months. I wanted to be able to help women reach their breastfeeding goals and looked into becoming a CLC. It took some time and further research; however, I successfully earned my certification in lactation counseling in October 2015.
I am a DONA Certified Birth Doula – I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to you and your partner before, during, and just after the birth. I am an Academy of Lactation Policy and Procedure Certified Lactation Counselor – providing counseling and education to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers regarding breastfeeding. I grew up and still live in the Southern Tier of New York. I provide my birth doula and lactation counseling services in the Greater Binghamton and surrounding areas.
